Ronald H. Galowich
Ron Galowich has been a successful real estate and corporate entrepreneur and attorney since 1960. His achievements and accomplishments include many profitable real estate development and investment ventures, including the acquisition, development and disposition of vacant land parcels, single- and multi-family residential and condominium projects,
office buildings, and shopping centers.
From April 1981 through August 1990, Ron was the Director of Real Estate Operations for the Chicago-based firm of Pritzker & Pritzker and its affiliates and served as President of numerous Pritzker-affiliated real estate companies. In these capacities, he successfully operated two major nationwide real estate portfolios with the charge of enhancing them and selling the assets at their highest value.
Ron has a demonstrated history of – and extensive experience in – identifying, founding and growing a variety of businesses, including software, information technology, healthcare cost management, solid waste disposal, cable television and major real estate development. In 1996, Ron founded Initiate Systems, Inc. and served as a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman until Initiate was acquired by International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM) in March of 2010.
Ron also was a Co-founder of First Health Group Corp. (Nasdaq: FHCC), serving as a Director (June 1982 to February 2005), Secretary, General Counsel and Executive Vice President. He was also Chairman of the Audit Committee, the Compensation Committee and the Transaction Committee that negotiated the sale of the company to Coventry Health Care, Inc. (NYSE: CVH) for $1.9 billion.
He co-founded the law firm of Galowich & Galowich, where from 1960 to 1981 he was an actively
practicing lawyer recognized as an expert in real estate law.
Ron received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois and a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois,
where he is a Past President of the College of Law.
